Opposites

A few days ago . . .
Annika: (playing with her little people animals) Mommy, why does this lion not have a mane?
Me: Because that's a female. Female lions don't have manes.
A: Oh. Mommy, are you a female?
Me: Yes. I'm a female, and so are you.
A: And is Daddy an email?

This morning . . .
Me: Annika, guess what? Tomorrow we get to go to Long Beach and see Great-Grandma!
A: Mommy, why do we live in Short Beach?
